The manufacturing side of the business has very different requirements from the design side. In my case, the software was custom made for my company by Ken Fischer. He is the CIO of Click for Help, a Microsoft Solutions partner. The following is a short list of some good software solutions for designers and manufacturers alike. I am not hiding the fact that I prefer Gerber, but there are other high caliber options. Training is recommended. Self teaching will only work if you are already trained on some type of advanced CAD software. There are similarities with the different types of CAD software, but it will still be difficult to find your way around the programs of the fashion industry without formal training. Style and Kaledo Collection allow designers to concentrate on creation, and to

Lectra’s software spans the entire product cycle, from design to manufacturing. They allow users to design models on-screen; create realistic simulations of their products lines; develop and industrialize products; plan and manage their development cycles from start to finish and establish a collaborative environment embracing everyone involved in managing collections, using the advantages of a powerful graphics database.
